Francine Witte is a poet, playwright and fiction writer based in NYC. She grew up in Queens, NY and later attended The University of Vermont (BA magna cum laude) Vermont College (MFA, poetry) and SUNY Binghamton (MA English/Creative Writing). In addition, she attended Canisius College for her educational certification. She is a high school English teacher in NYC.
Her poems and flash fiction stories have appeared in numerous journals including Cream City Review, Fugue, Saranac Review, and many others. She has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize three times. Her poetry chapbooks include "The Magic in the Streets" (1994) Owl Creek Press and "First Rain" (2009) Pecan Grove Press. She has also has a fiction chapbook, "The Wind Twirls Everything" (2008) MuscleHead Press.
