Today's
tour poem is from the online
Misfit Magazine, edited by
Five-Two alum Alan Catlin.
"Chain Saw" by Joan Colby sardonically deals with the way age wears down man and mare alike. Some of my favorite lines are from the beginning:
Finding you face-down in the peony bed,
The ladder fallen beside you. You weren’t dead.
and the end of the poem:
...The vet said
It's time. Who will say those words to us.
Who will listen.
