As you can see by the blog revamp, I'm going full speed ahead with a Web-based format, all-new poems on crime weekly. The name 5-2 refers to the fifty-two poems that will appear in the course of a year. It also brings to mind police precinct slang. It's pure coincidence that the NYPD's 52nd Precinct is in the Bronx and I am a Yankee fan.
The 5-2 will publish its first poem, "Smack" by Nancy Scott, on September 12, 2011.
The site will include video clips and "signed confessions" by the poets about how the poems were written.
