Precious
You
Precious
Can not be denied or confiscated
Your body may be in ruins
They could decapitate you
While your body bleeds out
But still
You are
And always will be
Precious

No object of blunt force could steal away the soul of you
You- blunt force trauma to the evils invoked by fear
You - free bird taking flight towards your North Star
Your body may not make it with you there
But still there you are
The you
Precious stone further unearthed by the loosening of the body

You precious
Your death bespoke my life
Your breath my inhale and then our exhale

Precious
You are
Precious are we
Precious
Precious
Precious

Angela confesses: "I wrote this thinking of Breonna Taylor, Walter Scott, friends, stories of women, girls, men, boys, raped and abused by others. We come into this world precious. This preciousness never leaves us. It does not rely on the acknowledgment and treatment of ourselves or others as such to remain true."
